Channels

A channel is a set of content settings and schedules that can be assigned to physical devices. A channel can be applied to an unlimited number of devices using the same output device type and resolution.

The options in the channels depend on the type of device and the features supported by that device. Some devices support multiple output formats (screens), video content, advanced content or exclusive forography.

Channels List

Channel list gives an overview of pre-created channel elements and allows you to search, filter and manage channels. Each channel is visualised as a card, where all the basic information about the channel are collected. Click on the arrow to open the settings for the selected channel. Each card is detemined by:

  • Status: Status of the device within the channel
  • Conditions: Channel playing status according to the current time.
  • Device Type: Types of devices for which the channel is made.
  • Screens: Number of screens connected with the channel.

New Channel

A new channel can be added in the channel overview area by clicking the ’Add New’ button in the top right corner.

When creating a channel, it is necessary to enter a name of the channel. In the case that you leave the shelf-multiscreen toggle turned on, you will also need to select an output format, which specifies the type of devices the channel is intended for.

After creating a new channel, you will need to open the corresponding card (all created channels can be found on the channel list on the entering page of the Channels submodule) and then add content that you wish to be playing on the screen. After that, you will also need to set a schedule and add devices on which you want this content to be played. These steps of creating and editing a channel are described in more detail in the following chapters.

  • Gray – At least one of the devices does not support status display.
